As the number of children diagnosed with autism, cerebral palsy and other special needs increase parents as well as doctors and therapists are looking at alternate ways to engage the child and provide long term benefits as well.
Although therapeutic riding is not new, its benefits have only been realized in the past 50 years. For this reason, Pretty Pony Pastures is hosting a unique hands-on seminar for persons with special needs. Parents and caregivers are invited to bring their children, teachers, doctors, physical/occupational therapists, and anyone who works with children with special needs are also invited.
Participants will be offered an evaluation horseback ride and participate in other activities that are involved with therapeutic riding. There is a weight restriction of 175 pounds to ride. The cost for children to ride and take part in the other activities is $10.00. There is no charge for parents and/or caregivers or other guests.
